We offer free mental health counseling in a supportive, compassionate environment.

Our counselors are highly skilled professionals who are passionate about providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed care that meets the unique needs of each person.

Through our nonprofit, The X-Studio: A Mental Health Cooperative our Reduced-Cost Mental Health Services Program is staffed by our qualified Mental Health Interns and Licensed Professional Counselor Associates (LPC-A) who provide reduced-cost mental health services such as counseling and therapy, groups, and more to clients who are struggling with many issues and challenges, including trauma/stressors, disabilities, depression, anxiety, addiction/substance abuse, rehabilitation, grief, and more. They serve individuals, couples, families, and children who are unable to afford mental health services due to financial challenges, income, lack of insurance, or because they are underinsured. The X-Studio: A Mental Health Cooperative

We are a community-based co-working space for Mental Health Interns and Licensed Professional Counselor-Associates (LPC-A) who are seeking a different model from group practice and provide reduced-cost mental health services to community members in need.

We are not a group practice or multiple brands operating under a parent company or group. We are a cooperative (co-op).

Mission and Vision

Our mission is to provide an alternative to the long-standing business service model available in the mental health profession to new clinicians by introducing a cooperative model that is different from the group practice model and to provide reduced-cost mental health services to community members in need.

Our vision is a more democratic, streamlined, supportive, non-toxic, professional path toward independent mental health practice for Mental Health Interns and Licensed Professional Counselor-Associates (LPC-A) while serving our community.

Our Approach: What We Do

We help guide the next generation of mental health practitioners toward alternative options so that they can pursue their path toward becoming independent counselors/therapists/clinicians in a sustainable way that minimizes group practice politics, agency burnout and solo practice isolation. We are doing so by providing an alternative to the long-standing business service models currently available in the mental health profession to new and up-and-coming clinicians and introducing this mental health cooperative model. We strive to build a strong commitment to serving our community.

What is a cooperative?

A cooperative (co-op) is a business or organization owned by and operated for the benefit of those using its services. Profits and earnings generated by the cooperative are used towards the day-to-day operations of the coop. Typically, an elected board of directors and officers run the cooperative while regular members have voting power to control the direction of the cooperative. Members can become part of the cooperative by joining and paying an annual fee, though that does not affect the weight of their vote.
